Because of my weight...
Wait, let me start from the beginning...

I am Chef Bobby, this is my lovely wife Melissa... This is our story...
You see... I didn't drink coffee. I thought it was for snobs and old people.
Although, I often watched Jerry Seinfeld drink coffee with other comedians on his show "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee," and they made it look appealing...
However, my experience with coffee was only sipping my parents "coffee milk" when I was a kid. It made me feel "like an adult."
Then... fast forward to the present day... I had a dilemma...
Coffee shop coffee was getting expensive... mainly, it was my wife buying expensive to-go coffee - remember, I didn't drink coffee at that time.
So, I bought my wife an Espresso machine for Christmas to save money...
You see...
In case you don't know - Starbucks does two really bad things...
That means not only was she spending a lot of money, needlessly, on coffee, but she was also spending a lot of money on low-quality, over-roasted coffee.
I finally convinced her to start making coffee at home.
Melissa has Crohn's among other GI issues. The coffee she was drinking, I won't say the name, was really causing trouble for her stomach.
Although we were saving money...the distress on the tummy was too much.
After an exhaustive search, we found a roaster that made the best tasting, lowest acid coffee!
So... morning after morning, I could smell this wonderful, roasty, sweet, vanilla aroma coming from the kitchen. She was making French Vanilla lattes almost every day.
Because we are on the KETO diet, she was making a French Vanilla Latte with Heavy Cream every morning.
You see... because of my weight...
And I still didn't want to drink that gross brown water...
Finally...
I gave in... and decided to taste her coffee/latte.
Holy Smokes!!! It was like that scene in Ratatouille when he tastes cheese and strawberry at the same time and all the fireworks go off in his mouth!
As a Chef, I am in touch with my taste buds...
The sensation I got from this luscious latte was all it took to be hooked!
I was always taught that when you love something, it doesn't feel like a business, it becomes part of your life.
Because coffee was fast becoming a big part of our lives, not to mention we were ordering some great coffee, the decision was made that we wanted to start our own coffee company - to share what we found with as many people as possible.
I constantly observed a growing demand for Healthy, Low Acid Coffee.
The coffee I was ordering weekly was low acid, healthy coffee. I could not think of a better way to spread health around the world than to sell my own healthy, low acid, organic great tasting coffees.
Welcome to the world of...
We are committed to sourcing High Quality, Organic, Healthy, Low Acid coffee.
And...
Buying Lucky Day Coffee helps you benefit from all the hard work and many many hours of designing, tasting and preparing to send our coffee out into the world.
So it began.. the long process to open Lucky Day Coffee Company.
Although I wanted to share healthy coffee with as many people as possible, I've often wondered how to make a difference and leave the world a better place than I found it..
A few years back, we had the privilege of visiting an elephant sanctuary in Thailand.
These mighty creatures were so gentle and were all rescued from circuses, backyard cages and some babies that were stranded from losing their parents.
I wondered if I could help elephant populations in some way.
When we started Lucky Day Coffee, it dawned on me to put an elephant the logo because elephants are "lucky."
But...
We could do more...
With every purchase, we could give some of the profit to help the elephants live out their lives peacefully.
Then...
We started thinking bigger!
We have always wanted to have our own non-profit. One that would help care for, rescue and give quality of life to cats and dogs.
So we thought...
Help animals with every purchase...
BUY COFFEE, SAVE ANIMALS...
Part of Lucky Day Coffee Company, called LUCKY CHARITIES, is responsible for contributing part of our profits to help take care of cats, dogs and elephants around the USA.
The special thing is that we give to small, independent families and family run businesses that are committed to taking care of animals - not just the big ones.
We feel that our money goes a lot further with those contributions. So...
We started the Lucky Charities. A nonprofit existing to support various vetted entities who provide cats, dogs and elephants with detailed care, companionship and quality of life.
Not only are you getting great coffee, you are helping cats, dogs and elephants too.
So, get ready to experience the smell, taste and enjoyment of drinking one, or several cups, of your favorite Lucky Day Coffee. And...
Help animals with every purchase. Cheers!
